Our story

Resono Ophthalmic is the result of the long and fascinating journey of the founders intertwining science, technology, and entrepreneurship. The company is established in 2014 as an Innovative Startup and, in 2019, it becomes an innovative SME.
Its mission is the development and marketing of highly innovative therapeutic devices for ophthalmology.

The journey

Resono Ophthalmic originates from Alfredo Ruggeri’s intuition to apply to ophthalmology the Quantum Molecular Resonance (QMR) principle, a technology capable of stimulating natural cell and tissue regeneration through high frequency and low power electric fields, already applied for years in various medical fields.

Ophthalmology was one of Alfredo’s main areas of study and research during his career as a Professor of Biomedical Instrumentation at the University of Padua. During those years, he comes into contact and actively collaborates with various companies that develop medical devices, including Nidek Technologies, belonging to the Japanese group Nidek Co., a world leader in ophthalmic instrumentation, and Telea Medical, which had developed an innovative technology, capable of stimulating natural cell regeneration, called Quantum Molecular Resonance (QMR). He also participates as co-founder in the creation of the business incubator M31, within which successful companies in the ophthalmology field such as CenterVue, Adaptica and D-Eye are established.

Resono Ophthalmic is born

It is precisely from this stimulating intertwining of skills and knowledge that the entrepreneurial idea of applying QMR technology to the treatment of eye diseases originates.

The Telea Medical company, experts in Business Development and Sales & Marketing, and a local backer, support him in establishing the business.

After several interviews with ophthalmologists and researchers, interest initially turns to dry eye disease, the most widespread in the ophthalmology field, and leads to the development of the innovative Rexon-Eye device, the first product of the new company.
